Welcome to the Cal Poly Strawberry Center BLOG
This idea started at our 2021 Field Day where almost 100 growers and PCAs signed up to receive research updates from the Strawberry Center. We added another 180 people to the list since then. We’re glad you’re here and are excited to get started.
The reason for starting this blog is to communicate more deeply on issues of importance to the California strawberry industry. Blogs are great because they allow us more freedom in the format we use to share scientific data and information. In this blog we plan to share our own research findings, but also anything we think will help the California strawberry industry survive and thrive. We will be summarizing scientific publications that are relevant to California strawberries. We might pose questions and photos of a particular problem and ask for your thoughts. We encourage dialogue here and are anxious to engage with you.
Dr. Sarah Zukoff (entomology program leader at the Strawberry Center) will publish our first blog post. Thereafter, we will post as frequently as needed from our plant pathology, entomology and automation programs. You’ll know when we post based on the preference you’ve selected. You can be notified on each post (our preference) or on another timeframe that you select. And please comment on the blog posts. We’re looking forward to engaging with you.
Thanks for joining us on this ride. Here we go…
